What’s the single most important thing you accomplished in 2010?

I think the biggest single thing I accomplished this year that is going to play a huge part in my future was defining my business. I started The Proof Fairy as a bit of a joky sideline to something else I was doing; that business was very local and I needed something I could plug when I networked away from my home town. I started offering proofreading, then it expanded to editing, writing, magazine design, leaflet design, blog articles, WordPress websites …… anything I could do, really. So towards the end of the year I decided to specialise in three areas – proofreading, blogging and WordPress sites. Now I can see where I’m going and where the money comes from, I might even drop the blogging and focus on proofreading and WordPress. So defining what I was good at and what I enjoyed most has played a huge part in shaping my business for the next 12 months.
